Eco-Logic Talk-Radio on KOWS is honest, no bull conversation, about the world we’ve built and what we are leaving behind.
With this bi-weekly radio show we explore the meaning of home, the shared root of ecology and economy. We look closely at where and how we live.
Home isn’t just a roof overhead; it’s our watershed, our community, our tribe, and our shared Mother Earth.
Since 1970, my wife and I have made our home in the North Bay — first from San Francisco to Mill Valley to West Marin, Petaluma, Sebastopol, and for the last three years, Santa Rosa.
And over a decade ago, for seven years, I was a programmer at KWMR in Point Reyes Station, sounding the alarm, trying to tell the truth about what we’re doing to the natural world — and what that means for our grandchildren and beyond. Here on Eco-Logic, we’ll dig into modern systems on which we we depend. Energy, biological resources, housing complexity, land use regulations, exploding technology — and ask how we’ve reshaped our lives within the global civilization.
Our economic discourse will lean toward household challenges and big choices we face at home, in our communities, and in our local ecosystems.
If you care to join the conversation, listen live, and call into the KOWS Santa Rosa Studio at 707-755-9250.

My goal with Eco-Logic is to offer greater clarity in a world full of noise, lies, and misrepresentations. Episodes are shaped by happenings in our community, shifts we’re seeing, and root-level ideas worth exploring.
Whether we’re overwhelmed by economic patterns, fearful of continuing environmental degradation, or concerned about the future for our children and grandchildren, I hope we leave each episode with something useful. Maybe a new perspective, new insights, or something meaningful about which to think more deeply.
Eco-Logic grew out of both curiosity and concern — curiosity about how markets, policy, and the environment interact, and concern about where we’re headed if we avoid the harder conversations. Many of the challenges we face today are existential in nature, yet too often they’re overlooked, simplified, or pushed aside.
I wanted to create a forum where thoughtful guests could speak honestly about global issues without retreating into abstract or disconnected solutions. Community radio offers something rare: the ability to ask hard questions, stay grounded, and explore how big changes actually show up at a local level.
You’ll often hear the phrase “Think Global, Act Local.” My belief has evolved. Today, I think we need to think local and act local. Real resilience begins close to home — in our communities, watersheds, and shared spaces. Community public radio makes these hyper-local conversations possible, and Eco-Logic is my way of contributing to that dialogue.
